Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor is best known for his role in the tv show Law & Order Special Victims Unit. Since his college days Meloni had a keen interest in acting. Then he studied at his home institution, the University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he's been in films and on television but it's the character actors on smaller screens which have earned him acclaim. He can play two characters, one from the perspective of the police as well as the other. This is what makes him so popular. In his very first TV project, he played a serial murderer. In later projects, he was the character of an NYPD investigator. His performances on small screens were rewarded with numerous Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards. It is his trademark eyelashes that are piercing and blue, which have been said to make the actor look gorgeous. They've helped him portray tough characters in a charming way. The People's Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive 2006 featured him.
